#1 Pie in America- Voted by USA Today

A Little Taste of Auburn: Ikeda’s

I’m lucky enough to call Auburn, California, home—and we have a pretty delicious claim to fame! Ikeda’s California Country Market was recently voted the #1 Pie Shop in America by USA TODAY readers in the 2026 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards. After finishing second in 2025, Ikeda’s took the top spot this year, beating out pie shops from across the country.

Ikeda’s has been a beloved Auburn tradition for generations. What began as a family fruit stand has grown into a destination known for its fresh fruit, country-market charm and, of course, its incredible selection of pies. Their fruit pies, cobblers, cream pies and other baked goods have made Ikeda’s a favorite stop for both locals and travelers along Interstate 80.

As an Auburn resident, I love that this nationally recognized pie shop is right here in our little corner of California. It’s something special to be able to say that America’s No. 1 pie shop is in Auburn!

13500 Lincoln Way
Auburn, California 95603
Here's a list of their pies. They also ship outside of California with a required 2 day air shipping.

They also sell produce, fresh sauces, prime-grade beef, Pacific wild caught fish, and fine wines.
They also have a restaurant with Burgers, Sandwiches, Sides, Milk shakes, sodas and dessert.

  2. Linda, what a nice pie shop. They all look so good and I'd pick the apple, triple berry, and peach pie. Those pies would be great to serve for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

  3. Linda! How fortunate to have that 3rd generation pie shop so near your home. I would be stopping by
almost daily as I love pies, especially chocolate pie with meringue which very few bakers add to the tops of their pies these days. There is only one restaurant near me here in Florida that still puts meringue on their chocolate, coconut, lemon, and banana pies...instead they put whipped cream toppings which I like but not my favorite. Soooo, I make my own when I have a hankerin'. LOL I noticed Ikeda's also use the cream topping so I would definitely go for the fruit two crust pies if I lived nearby. Knowing that they ship is something I will tuck away for future reference. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful and recently honored mainstay of your community. Stay cool my friend ...it is gonna be another scorcher down here in Florida. 93 but feels like 103.

  4. Now, that's the kind of shop I love -- and how wonderful to have it close to home! It looks wonderful, the shop (the pie, too, though I'm not apple's biggest fan!). That said, it's a crumble top, which boosts it way up on the pie list! It would be a bit dangerous for me to be so close!

  5. What a wonderful feature! 🥧 Ikeda’s sounds like a truly special Auburn tradition, and being voted the #1 Pie Shop in America by USA TODAY readers is such an impressive achievement. The combination of fresh fruit, homemade pies, and that charming country-market atmosphere makes it a place I’d definitely love to visit someday. Congratulations to Ikeda’s! 🍎🥧👏

  13. Linda, what a fabulous shop! I am afraid if I lived close, I would be tempted to be a regular customer, which might lead to having to buy new clothes! Thanks for sharing!
