Welcome Spring With Bunnies

Welcome to my table on the Spring Blog Hop! If you’re coming from My Thrift Store Addiction,  thank you for joining me. There is something about the first signs of spring that makes me want to pull out every shade of garden green and sky blue in my collection.

This year, I decided to lean into a "French Country meets Chinoiserie" aesthetic. It’s elegant, a little bit playful, and perfectly suited for an Easter brunch.

The inspiration started with this Blue French Toile tablecloth. Toile is such a timeless pattern, and its intricate scenes provide a sophisticated backdrop for the layers to come.

For the place settings, I wanted to define each seat with soft texture. I used scalloped embroidered cotton blue linen placemats topped with crisp white chargers. This creates a "frame" for the real star of the table: the plate stack.

The Plate Stack: A Walk Through the Garden

I love mixing brands and styles to make a table feel curated rather than "bought in a box." Dinner Plate: The iconic Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage plate in vibrant green. Salad Plate: A whimsical leaping bunny plate to signal that Easter is just around the corner.

For the focal point, I wanted something that felt lush and seasonal. I anchored the table with my favorite Blue and White Chinoiserie Porcelain ginger jars and a matching vase.

The floral arrangement is a celebration of spring: creamy blue hydrangeas, bright yellow tulips, and textured viburnum for a bit of wild greenery. To tie in the Easter theme, I tucked yellow eggs right into the blooms—it’s a playful surprise that echoes the sunny hue of the tulips. To finish the look, I flanked the flowers with blue bunnies on each side, bringing a sense of symmetry and whimsy to the display.

I am head-over-heels for this Italian Bormioli Rocco glassware in the Bahia style. The blue and green tones catch the light beautifully and coordinate perfectly with my green flatware from Horchow

Don’t be afraid to repurpose your glassware! I’m using the Bormioli Rocco blue and green glass goblets as dessert vessels. Each one is nestled with a white chocolate bunny and a handful of jelly beans for a sweet finish to the meal.

The Finishing Touch: Tucked atop the stack is a blue and white toile napkin, neatly cinched with bunny ear napkin rings. It adds a bit of height to the place setting and brings that "garden party" personality right to the guest's lap.

The Grand Finale: Tall White Bunny Topiaries

To anchor the entire look and lean fully into my theme, "Welcome Spring with Bunnies," I placed two tall white bunny topiaries at each end of the table.  I tied blue & white Chinoiserie ribbon in bows to my bunnies to dress them up a bit. Their height draws the eye up and creates a beautiful sense of scale against the lower Chinoiserie centerpiece. They are the perfect blend of garden-inspired texture and whimsy!

The tabletop lamps are from Mrs. Alice. They are rechargeable lamps.  I bought them on sale.  She offers all different styles and colors. Look at this adorable bunny lamp.

  3. Just gorgeous! I love rabbits so this is right up my Bunny Trail! Those white rabbit topiary statues are fabulous, but my favourite is the blue bunny resting its chin on its paws -- TOO adorable! May I please ask your permission to use your photo #5 in my Easter Rabbits image post next month (with credit and a link to this post)?

  4. Ooh, Linda, I LOVE the classic blue & white with green as accents. Those le lapin salad plates are so wonderful, and I have a dinner plate that's calling their name, hint, hint. The glassware from BB&B is fantastic, and your description of the sky blue and garden green is spot on for this season and your tabletop. The tablecloth is gorgeous. Timeless, classy and whimsical, all the tabletop elements. Thank you, Linda, for brightening my already happy spring spirit with your table and style for this blog hop!

  10. I'm such a fan of yellow with blue, and those tulips are the perfect accent. I love the toile, too, and the contrasting placemats are perfect. Bunny season is always a favorite in my world and what a wonderful table you created to share it. Your white chocolate bunnies on the jelly beans make for the perfect dessert, especially in those glasses and I may have to borrow that idea!

  11. Linda all the elements of your table make me want to sit and enjoy a brunch with the ladies. I sat a blue and white table last year and I didn't realize just how much I loved it til I left it 'up' for several weeks to admire. Your table reminds me of that table although you brought in green elements which work beautifully. I especially love your green Le Lapin Leaping salad plates with the blue rims. I would love to check out the blue and green BB&B Bahia glassware. I did admire those lamps at Mrs. Alice a while back, but found something similar at Amazon which I used for gifting. Thanks for your inspiration. Have a great week, I am sure your weather is good now.

  14. It made me smile, not just to look at your beautiful table, but also to see so many things that you have that I have as well – the chargers, the Bordallo Pinheiro plates, your two white bunnies in the center, and I have been stalking those leaping bunny plates for over a year. I also love all of the blue. In my old house, my dining room was a deep French blue, and I created loads of blue tablescapes. When I moved where I live now I wanted something calm so I went with neutrals. Sadly, I got rid of a lot of the blue things that I had. To someone worthy, nonetheless, it’s all gone. As I look at the blue tables today, I am really regretting that decision.

  18. HI Linda, Your table exemplfies such elegance to the whimsy of Easter. You successfully combined both. I love your choice of various blue and white patterns and it adds a gorgeous background to your detailed plate stack. I wish I could see a closer photo of your top appetitizer plate. The two tone stemware used for dessert cups are a work of art and it is edible! The large bunny toparies are a great find and can be used in so many table designs or buffets. The cute blue bunny heads are so sweet with their "attentive" positions. I love all of the details and I wholeheartedly agree with you--the first signs of Spring has me bringing anything and everything with a color of Spring. Happy Easter!
