Our Breakfast Room Chairs Makeover

 

Hello everyone, I have been meaning to recover my breakfast chairs for quite some time. When I create tablescapes in the breakfast room, I have resorted to using pillow cases for my chairs. They make great chair covers and come in so many assorted colors and patterns.

I have decided using a neutral pattern would be a great option for  our chairs. Talk about perfect timing, Sam from Fabric Wholesale Direct emailed me to see if I was interested in writing a post about their fabrics and sharing  my project. Of course I jumped at the opportunity. They supplied  me with fabric of my choice.

I love how the chairs turned out.  The fabric is so rich  with great texture. Truly an elegant look for our Breakfast room. The former red limited me to using different tablescape colors.

The fabric I chose is Julius Damask Chenille Upholstery Brocade Jacquard.

It features a raised design and is double sided.

Here is an arm chair I re-covered years ago.  I love the richness, however it did limit my tablescapes.

My husband helped me strip the fabric off the chairs.  He actually removed most of the staples because my back started to hurt.  He supplied me with a staple gun and staples.  I cut the fabric out and started covering each chair seat.

Here's the first chair.  I saved the top part to finish after the seats were done.

When it came time to re-cover the top part of the chairs. I struggled with getting it to look great and fit in the groove. So I contacted the upholstery company that re-covered our patio chairs. They are a local company who did a fabulous job on our outdoor chairs.
