Tales of The Traveling Tote #25

Welcome to our 25th Tales of The Traveling Tote. Be sure to scroll down and read, as we are having another Giveaway. December 1st starts the tradition of Christmas.
I have to post early due to a conflict with the Christmas Tablescape Blog Hop.
December 1st, you will find the other ladies's posts.

The Tales of The Traveling Tote is about the adventures of the ladies who each have a Mackenzie Child's large tote,  like Santa is holding, whom we all have named and sharing our travels.
With Covid, we mostly are staying home.  We post 4 times a year with a wonderful giveaway to one of our lucky readers.

I am always saddened in December due to my  sister, Cynthia who passed away in 2004 whose Birthday is December 13th. Gone too soon.

This Christmas is also sad due to my Mom's passing in August of this year. Both my dad and mom have passed.
A family photo.  The youngest brother wasn't born yet.

The gals from the Traveling Tote always try to Zoom to see what each have been up to. Some ladies were unable to participate and were missed.

Thanksgiving was fun with the Great Grands, my Granddaughter and her fiancée's
kids.  I bought them all aprons with chef hats.

The kids really enjoyed the Christmas decorations and cocoa bar.  Michaela works from home and the kids are home schooled.  They recently just bought a house.

Paul and I visited Pottery World, a great place to be inspired for decorating.  Miss Lola and I posing with the giant bear and Santa. We haven't really gone anywhere due to covid. We are being careful, wearing a mask everywhere.  I took off my mask briefly for this photo.

  1. I love everything about this post, especially the children posing in their chef hats and aprons. You took a perfect picture! We were thinking alike as I bought two of my grandchildren a mini rolling pin for Christmas and will include mini cookie cutters. I think they need a chef hat also. In the blink of an eye, Christmas will be here. I know you are missing your sister and parents.

  2. Linda, how sad to read of your family losses, especially in this year. I think the upside down tree is apropos in representing how the world feels this year. It certainly makes every opportunity of being with family feel like it's special, and your visit with grands & great-grands looked very special. I love the aprons and hats, it looked like a lot of fun. That cocoa bar is fabulous. And you didn't even mention the challenges you had with fires this fall! In spite of it all, you & Miss Lola made the best of it.

  5. You really had a house full for Thanksgiving Linda, I know the children loved the decorations in the breakfast room and the Cocoa bar! I would love to visit Pottery World sometime, that looks like a dangerous store full of treasure! I am so sorry about your sister and mom, loosing loved ones can make the holidays bittersweet, and hopefully you can remember the happy times you enjoyed with them...December will be yet another challenge in 2020, but with holiday lights, decorations and hope for the New Year, it can be a wonderful time...Happy December Linda!

  6. I’m sad for you in missing your sister, and your parents, Linda. Thankfully you were surrounded by happy kids in chefs hat and aprons. It’s nice that you and Paul still get out to enjoy getting away for day trips.

  8. Linda, holidays are always a bit sad when we are missing family members. I lost my mom on Thanksgiving Day six years ago, and our dad a week after Thanksgiving in 1972. So Thanksgiving always feels a mix of gratitude and loss for my parents. Will be thinking of you!
Your holiday decorating is in full swing. I always enjoy seeing what you do. Love the photo of your little chefs. What fun they must have when they visit your home.
    Happy Holidays!

  9. The holidays are so hard when we miss our loved ones Linda. I LOVE the gorgeous tiered tray you decorated, and the Christmas tree. How fun to be with the grandchildren for Thanksgiving. It's hard to believe that you have great grandchildren as you look so amazing! We don't go out unless it's necessary as in food shopping or doctors appointments. I'm thankful we can do take out food on the weekend. Have a nice week and happy December Linda.
