National Make a Dogs Day

Celebrating National Dog Day can be as easy as giving your four-legged friend a big hug and kiss (if they like that sort of affection)!

National Make A Dog's Day aims at giving shelter pets a day to remember, encourage adoptions.

About 3.3 million dogs enter shelters across the U.S. each year, many being surrendered by former owners due to a new baby, moving to a different location, or other circumstances.
About 35% of the animals sent to shelters are eventually euthanized and, while that number is still declining, the need for adoption remains high.  So sad.  Our pets are not throwaways

These darlings are a big part of our family. Chloe is Dante's mother. We have a routine.  After they have their dinner, we get the look from them both. We all go to the Gator vehicle and give them a ride down the long driveway to the cul de sac.  They always are on the look-out for wildlife.  The highlight of their day.

Everyday we make it a dog's day for our fur babies.
Hug your dogs.

  1. Oh! How cute they are, Linda. We don't have pets anymore but my son has a wonderful Goldendoodle that is a 'phantom'...he is all black and will eventually look like he has a 'mist'floating on him. The grey hairs are now growing in with black ones. He LOVES his Nana. xo Diana

  2. This us the most adorable thing Linda. I'm thrilled to know we aren't the only ones where everyday is puppy day that's what we call it.

Having two brother and sister doxies is where the puppy comes from. They are 9 and look like puppies. We can't imagine life without them.

    Adorable post.

  9. Hi Linda, oh you have such beautiful dogs! The photo of the two of them on the seats in the green truck is just so cool. We dog sit from time to time our neighbors 3 schnauzers! We all LOVE them so much and spoil them. Our dog Bosco just turned 12 a week ago and boy did that go fast. Dogs are a lot of work but bring such joy to a family. Enjoy the week and weekend. Julie xo
