Cinderella - A Table Fit For A Princess

Every fairytale begins with a little magic, and this one starts with a golden pumpkin carriage, sparkling crystal, and the softest shade of Cinderella blue.

Before we get started, I want to thank Rita for hosting this fabulous fall blog hop. I also want to give a special thank you to Mary, who took over for Rita, when Rita broke her wrist. Unfortunately Mary wasn't able to join us for this hop. Be sure to visit the other talented table stylists at the bottom of this post for more beautiful fall tablescape inspiration.

There is something magical about Cinderella that never goes out of style. While we may have outgrown fairy tales, we never outgrow the feeling of wonder they inspire. For this tablescape, I wanted to capture the elegance of Cinderella's royal ball with a sophisticated palette of white, gold, and dusty blue.
Rather than creating a typical fall table, my goal was to design a setting that feels timeless—one that hints at the story through carefully chosen details.....hence a Cinderella table, plus there is a pumpkin involved.
Each place setting was designed to feel like a royal welcome. Macy's Charter House plates with gold borders is layered over gold  decorative chargers and paired with gold flatware. from Horchow. Centered on each salad plate is a  Cinderella Pumpkin Carriage Decorative Hinged Jewelry Trinket Box—a little keepsake for every guest.

Flowing beneath the centerpiece is a sheer dusty blue runner, reminiscent of Cinderella's iconic ball gown. Layered over a white pintuck tablecloth, it adds movement and softness while allowing the texture of the tablecloth to peek through.

Tall  Waterford crystal champagne flutes and sparkling stemware reflect the candlelight and echo the magic of the evening.

The centerpiece begins with my gold pumpkin carriage, filled with white/ivory roses, white chrysanthemums, Baby’s breath and greenery. The soft blooms spill gently from the carriage, as though it has just arrived at the palace.

Two crystal candle holders frame the centerpiece, their warm glow dancing across the gold accents, crystal, and glass, creating a table that feels both romantic and inviting.

No Cinderella table would be complete without a few glass slippers. Rather than placing one at every setting, I nestled them throughout the centerpiece and along the runner, allowing guests to discover these little treasures as they admired the table.

The dusty blue napkins are adorned with jeweled gold crowns, adding a regal touch while tying the fairy-tale theme together.

One of my favorite details is how every element works together without overwhelming the design. The pumpkin carriage, crowns, crystal, and soft blue linens each tell a small part of the story, creating a table that celebrates Cinderella in a refined and elegant way.

Whether you're hosting a bridal shower, a birthday dinner, or simply gathering friends for an evening around the table, I hope this tablescape inspires you to add a little fairy-tale magic to your own home.

After all, every memorable gathering begins with a beautifully set table—and sometimes, a little bit of magic.

I shall be hosting a Cinderella luncheon on September 24th for my clogging ladies' group. I will sharing photos from the party afterward. I will be Cinderella.

I hope you visit each and every fall tablescape listed below and get inspired.

  7. Linda you have perfectly captured the magic of Cinderella! The blue mimics her ball gown and the gold carriage with creamy roses and baby’s breath could not be more perfect. 8. Linda! another perfectly themed table setting....you have captured every detail! Who wouldn't feel like a princess sitting at this table. Are you going as the 'finished' Cinderella for your clogging ladies...or the soot smudged face and patched clothes before the fairy Godmother did her magic? Wouldn't it be fun to first appear at your party greeting guests as Cinderella, the maid and then change quickly to preside over your party as the gorgeous Cinderella in blue? Just a thought...I am probably being too over-the-top but it is something I would consider doing. 🤗 Your table is the thing fairy tales are made of and I am so happy you shared it with us. And the pumpkin tie-in is so subtle that it is sublime. Always fun to see what kind of table you will show us next. Blessings always. Kari @ Me and My Captain

  10. Linda, this tablescape is absolutely dreamy. Of all the Disney films, Cinderella is truly my favorite. I have a mug that I used to drink from when working that I have saved from that movie. You've captured the essence of the entire romance of Cinderella on this table. The centerpiece is so beautiful, and takeaways for your guests absolutely the sweetest. I love the place settings and the use of the blue as your runner and napkins, and also beneath the plate stack. Your AI generated image of you as Cinderella is the best! Thank you so much for participating today. Happy September!

I love how the soft dusty blue and warm gold work so beautifully with the feeling of autumn, while still keeping that elegant fairy-tale theme. And those little carriage trinket boxes at each place setting are such a special touch! But the main event in my mind is that stunning pumpkin carriage centrepiece. Oh my goodness. So fun and elegant at the same time!
