A Mothers Day Celebration Under the Palapa

This past Mother's Day was truly special, a delightful celebration of family and the beauty of springtime, all enjoyed in the breezy shade of our poolside palapa. We gathered with three other wonderful couples – my amazing husband and my dear son – making it a cozy and intimate gathering of nine The setting couldn't have been more perfect, a tranquil escape just steps from the sparkling blue water.

For our Mother's Day lunch, I set a theme of soft, romantic pinks and fresh, vibrant greens, a nod to the blossoming garden surrounding us. Roses, of course, were the star of the show. To create a truly unique floral display, I  utilized our table rod in an unexpected way. Hanging it upside down from the palapa's thatched roof, it became a stunning suspended garden, showcasing a breathtaking bevy of delicate pink roses. They cascaded gently overhead, creating a floral canopy that felt both whimsical and elegant, showering our table with their sweet fragrance.

The tablescape below was designed to complement this overhead floral masterpiece. Each place setting began with a charming pink petal placemat, adding a touch of playful texture. Layered on top were our scalloped  dinner plates, a delightful combination of soft pink and a refreshing shade of green with a butterfly. To complete the setting, each plate was topped with a vibrant green Bordallo Pinheiro plate serving as a unique and natural salad plate. The contrast of the delicate pinks with the crisp greens felt so fresh and celebratory, perfectly capturing the spirit of the day.

Jain and Scott attended.  Jain  From A Quiet Life Blog brought these gorgeous roses from her fabulous rose garden.  It is in full bloom right now.  You can visit and take a look for yourself HERE.

Mimosas were served in pretty pink champagne flutes.

For the table I filled two pretty moss green purses with a lovely variety of  Asiatic lilies and baby's breath. My husband bought the flowers from Costco.

My son Jason surprised me with a gorgeous bouquet of luscious pink roses in a lovely floral vase.  He also gifted me a forever pink rose enclosed in a water globe.

Below is a video I shot of the table.  Enjoy!
