How To Center Blogger Components.

This is all done by adding CSS in Blogger's Template Designer. The template designing tool allows us to change font colors, font styles, sizes, etc.

Click Template  *  Click Customize *  Click Advanced  *  Scroll down until you see Add CSS.

You will see a white box, on the right. Add the below codes in there and hit the enter key on your keyboard. That's important! Click apply to blog if all looks good. After you click enter, the post title and date should be centered.

.post-title {
.date-header {

Take a look to see if your post titles and date are centered. Remember to ALWAYS back up your template before doing any editing. Adding these codes in here is much safer than editing your html.
All of the following codes are added the same way.

Template > Customize > Advanced >Add CSS>

Paste the following code in the whitebox:  and click enter!

#header-inner img {margin: 0 auto;}

You can use this code if you know the width of your blog.

#Header1 {width:900px;margin:0 auto}

Change 900 to whatever size your header is.

Center your Pages -Pagelist Gadget

.Pagelist {textalign:center!important;}
.Pagelist li {display:inline !important; float:none  !important;}

Example- not centered

Center Your Sidebar Titles

aside .widget .title
{text-align:center !important;}

.sidebar h2 {text:center !important;}

Always click enter on your keyboard to show the changes and click apply to blog if all looks good.

I hope this helps some of you!
Making your blog pretty can be fun.

  1. Great news, Linda!!! I'm so glad for you! Also glad to hear that Chloe is feeling better. :) Thanks for another good tutorial, Linda -- yours are always really helpful. I hope you have a great weekend!

  2. Linda, thank you so much for this. HTML is not a language I am familiar with and sometimes I wonder how I can do my blog (LOL!), but Blogger does make it easy enough for me. I registered with and tried Wordpress and found it so difficult. I only registered out of curiosity, because some former Blogger users switched to Wordpress, but I found it complicated so didn't bother with it. :)

  3. Great news and thanks for the tips. Greetings and happy new month!

  4. Good Morning Linda, I am so pleased to hear that your biopsy was normal, that is the most wonderful news. I have done my own happy dance for you.
    Thank you for the bloggy information, you have been so helpful to me. As I am not very techy, I have learnt as I have gone along. I am so pleased that now I know how to centre my header..... that is the next thing I will be doing.
    Have a wonderful day today.
    Best Wishes to you.

  5. Good morning Linda!

    About four years ago, I had a blog designer do this for me and I loved the results. She also changed the code so my photos would be larger than they used to appear, so that's great. But I want to make sure I can refer to this wonderful post to play around with another blog I use only for testing purposes.....YOU ARE AWESOME! You are really good with this technical stuff, and I've received so much help from a few great blogger friends. And I hope you are well today. Keep us posted on everything, OK? Love, Anita

  6. God morning Linda ,thank for your tips and the good new the Chloe is mush better

  8. I am so glad that biopsy was normal! I fear messing with my blog. One day I might let you have a crack at it if I decide to keep on with it.

  9. I'm so happy to hear that your biopsy was normal, Linda!!!! Yea!!!!!
    You're so knowledgable on all blogging things. Thank goodness for YOU!

  11. Hi Linda, I'm in and out with some getaways but wanted to stop by and thank you for your comment and edits I needed to make on my domain in blogger. I took care of that and appreciate you telling me this.
    So thrilled your biopsy came out great. You have been in my prayers. Thanks for sharing this tutorial too. Many will benefit from this help!!
    Have a wonderful week and best wishes in my giveaway.
    Hugs, cm

  12. So sweet of you to provide us with a tutorial-but I will never ever use one, because I am terrified of HTML and also because I have YOU! You have made my blog so very pretty and I am so happy with it all!

  13. I probably should have paid more attention to HTML but my son took care of all that. LOL Now I have you! Glad your biopsy results were good. xo

  14. I'm doing the happy dance too, my friend - GREAT news! This is a great tutorial and will be so helpful to your readers.
    I see you got mail chimp sorted. Did that tutorial help? Should I attempt it again? I've been avoiding it like the plague, lol.
    Talk soon, WW. xoxo

  15. Linda, Jess does most of the design work on our blog, and that's why we don't change the Header except once a year because we have to come up with a Header that we all agree and like. Thanks for the tips. Blogging can be complicated sometimes, but through the years, we learn so much more about it.

    I hope you are enjoying this month of August.

    love, ~Sheri

  16. Glad you do it for me!! Makes my head spin just to read it!

  17. After reading your post I realize even more what a kindergartener blogger I am!

  18. Cool thanks for all the great tips. I'll have to try it one day
