Ta Da! Kitchen Reveal

Well, some of you have been patiently waiting to see our new kitchen.  We are so pleased, we love showing it off.  It has been a rough year......battling two cancers, surgeries,  radiation, a premature puppy and a kitchen remodel.  I am so glad to have this behind me.  I see the Endocrinologist Dec. 11.  I hope to get the right dosage for my hormones. After that a pet scan to make sure all of the cancer is gone.
Thank you all for being so supportive.

Here's the before: It was a very pretty kitchen.  We just needed more room so we added on.

The back splash needs to be done and the window needs trim.
The granite is called River Bordeaux

The flutes are additional storage.  We ordered ring pulls to open them. They hold up to 450 lbs each.

Copper sink ordered from Ebay.  We love this sink!
The barley twist legs are also pull-outs.
One cannot have enough storage.

Microwave with drawer beneath and barrel ceiling display.
We have a matching barrel ceiling display  on the top of the double ovens.

Two sky lights were added  with remote controls.  The famous chandelier.....Adds some bling to the kitchen.

Double ovens

Grape corbels

A display case to change out seasonal decor.

The back splash will be a travertine 4x4 on the bottom with a bronze liner, similar to the picture below.. We might use the 6x6 tiles above that with the bronze Fleur de lis.
Where the small travertine tiles are, we will use glass tiles
for some bling.
This is called ice crackle glass tile in brown. We will do the entire window wall in the glass tiles with a bronze trim around the window.  It will tie in with the sink and knobs.

Accent deco tile
Here's a look from the family room.

I hope you enjoyed looking at our new kitchen.  We love it.
Here's a photo of the snow we recently got. It was 24 degrees last night. So much for sunny California.

Stay warm and cozy.  xoxo

  11. Hi Linda,

Your kitchen is just beautiful. I'm sure you are totally thrilled and it's all been completed in time for the holidays! I hope you are planning a big crowd ~ you've got lots of space! The dark wood is stunning and such a wonderful view from your family room. I'm also loving the holiday touches you've added.

I hope your visit with the Endocrinologist goes well:) xxleslie

  12. What a beautiful kitchen!!! So envious, as mine is nowhere near as nice.

    Good luck with the endocrinologist.

  13. I AM SO THRILLED LINDA! Everything is just stunning, and I am all for a chandelier in the kitchen! We have one, and I love it, and so does my husband! The woodwork is exquisite and the extra room and storage will be greatly used.

I am praying for you that all goes well and that you get a great report on your scan. And you're in California and IT SNOWED? I grew up in Los Angeles and it never, ever snowed there....I hope you're in the northern part because if it snowed in Southern Ca., that is too weird!

  14. Linda, it looks so warm and inviting. I am envious at all of your storage locations. It is gorgeous.
Prayers your way for a great scan report.

  15. I love looking at the before and after photos of the kitchen. You had a great kitchen before but now it's so much more functional and gorgeous- it's just amazing. Those pull outs are the coolest! Love the barrel ceiling and displays. The chandelier is just the right touch and the window too.
So glad you've made it through the storm of health issues. Holding you close in thought always and praying for the PET scan to be all clear. Hugs, Liz

  16. Linda, what an absolutely gorgeous kitchen! The details are amazing; and that chandelier is stunning! What a beautiful place to have as the center of your home! Praying for nothing but the best for you!

  17. HI Linda! Your kitchen is exquisitely beautiful! I love the color of the cabinetry! All of the corbels add such a fine touch! And the pull-outs, how clever! So glad you have something beautiful to enjoy after such a trying year! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home! Hope all is well with the scans! Have a wonderful Christmas! Blessings from Bama!

  18. I've been waiting patiently for this reveal Linda and it's absolutely gorgeous! It's amazing what you've endured this past year and you so deserve to enjoy this exquisite kitchen! I can picture all the wonderful times that will be happening in there.

Happy Holidays to you and yours!

  19. Oh Linda, you so deserve this wonderful kitchen redo. It turned out just so perfectly and now you can enjoy it and put this year behind you. You're still remembered in my prayers. Hope you're staying warm and cozy. we've had icy roads and I haven't been out in days. xo

  20. Just gorgeous! I'm so happy for you...for the new kitchen as well as overcoming so many health issues. I just know that all will be good with the scan!

We've been iced in since last Thursday and I have major cabin fever! It's just horrible when you know you can't get out...whether you want to or not.

  21. Oh Linda, a beautiful kitchen for such a beautiful lady. Really.... I can't think of anything else to say other than just plain beautiful!!

  22. You truly do have exquisite taste, Linda. It's all come together so beautifully! I love that you have so many spaces to display your beautiful things. The kitchen compliments your dining room perfectly too. Someday, I want to visit and share a glass of wine in that beautiful room and you can show me every exquisite detail. Love you, Wonder Woman - you SO deserve this!

  23. I love every inch of it! Question about your sink? I also have a copper sink, the interior of mine is really "stained" Have you heard of waxing the sink?

  24. Hi Jackie, yes, you can wax it. There are several things you can do to make your copper sink shiny again.
Run some water and use very fine sand paper. Keep the water running, while you do this.

  25. Oh that was another grand tour of your kitchen Linda! So fabulous! I just wanted to come by again to thank you for coming to leave me a message! BE WELL! Anita

  26. Oh my word, your kitchen is totally amazing. So gorgeous. You really did such a fabulous job on the remodel. Stunning. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty

  27. This is what I call A KITCHEN!!!!!!! Goodness, Linda...it's beautiful!!! So many great details that will make working in the kitchen more of a pleasure than a chore! And what a great gathering space since we all know that's where the guests always end up congregating!!! :-) I think the flutes are my favorite part! What terrific and convenient storage!!! And boy, oh boy, what I would do to have double ovens!!!! And that copper sink is the cat's pajamas!!!!!!!! You did a really great job with this, and I'm just hoping it all helped to ease some of the pain and anxiety for you as you went through your horrible health ordeal. Hope all went well at the endocrinologist yesterday, too. Take care, congratulations, and have a beautiful weekend!

  28. Your updated kitchen is gorgeous! I love the lighting and how cool to have two sky lights.

  29. Linda! What a treat to see your project come full circle. Your new kitchen is divine. Every touch has been carefully planned and the results are beautiful. It must be a joy to enter your kitchen each day. That copper sink-ohhh lala! Such a great choice.
Wishing you a wonderful season Linda.

  30. Oh Linda, holy bleep your kitchen is drop dead, jaw dropping, I am so going to move in, turning green with jealousy gorgeous! I seriously want to bring my down pillow and sleep on that gorgeous granite!

  31. Holy Moly!!!!! It's gorgeous! I love that you went from a white kitchen to wood tones. Most are going the other way! It's just beautiful. :)

  32. Okay you went from very pretty to WOW. I'm jealous. Love those pull outs for additional storage.

  33. Just catching up on your posts - I haven't been around alot the past few weeks. Your kitchen looks gorgeous! I see you did go with the WOLF cooktop - I bet you LOVE it!! The skylights and the lights you chose look magnificent.

Hope you're feeling better and the endocrinologist report was good. Gonna go check your next post up.

Our 4 1/2 yr old Benny, our Havanese Pup, got severly ill - he developed neurological problems and lived only 6 hours after - when we had to put him to sleep. It was all so fast...and so sad.

    Merry Christmas!

    Jan ♥
