Bathroom Inspiration

I don't know about all of you, however I always have a list of projects I want done.  It seems I never run out of ideas.
We have an upstairs guest bathroom, that I have been wanting to work on.  I would also want to replace the tile flooring.

This tub-shower combination we have is not practical nor safe. There is a step up into the narrow German tub.  Crazy design!  It seems silly to step up and then step down into a narrow tub to take a shower. I wish it was larger, however it is a guest bathroom.
Our bathroom is two rooms, divided by a pocket door.

As you can see, the toilet and shower are  in one room and the sink is in another. I love the storage we have in the room with the sink.  I hate this tile!  The cabinets could be painted.  I do love the wall hung toilet.  It makes it easier to clean!

You can see the pocket door here.

Here's some inspiration.  A walk-in shower.  So much easier to slip in  We have two other bathrooms with tubs, so no tub is needed.  This is a little too modern for me, but you get the idea of the walk-in shower.

I found some pretty bath fixtures at PlumbTile.
They have an amazing  selection  of Luxury bathroom and kitchen faucets, sinks, showers, tubs, and more.  They also have tile,  flooring and lighting.

I would want a rain shower in there and also a hand held sprayer.

How about a color changing showerhead?

This is our Master bathroom.   The large showerhead is a dream, along with the body jets and of course the hand held shower.
Are you a shower or bathtub person?   I  enjoy showers for the most part, however I do enjoy taking a long hot bath when I really want to relax.

Tile is so rich looking with plenty of choices to please anyone.  I love mixing metals with tile.
Adding some here and there breaks up the look.  Design a liner in the middle of a shower wall to give your bathroom some pizazz or add a deco here and there.  It won't break the bank, depending on what you choose.

PlumbTile  carries an extensive list of manufacturer  name brands. Something to suit anyone.  I also noticed they offer free shipping, guaranteed price matching.  What's not to love?

I love the free shipping and the great variety.  My husband and myself usually buy online.  We bought our flooring for our house online along with faucets and showerheads.

Here's some I love.  Fleur de lis  by : Landmark Metalcoat French Rustic Collection

Remember when we did our kitchen remodel two years ago?  We used several different tile pieces to give our backsplash a nice design.  Notice the decos?

I am dreaming, designing, and searching to make our guest bathroom pretty, practical and more.

Stay tuned for an upcoming Valentine tablescape.

  1. I can see how a wall hung toilet would make cleaning much easier, Linda! Showers don't interest me, because I guess I'm one of the few that love to take a bath. However, my grands would love the color changing shower head!! Good luck with your planning for your changes to your guest bathroom.

  2. A hand-held shower head sprayer is a MUST, as far as I'm concerned. So useful for flushing out all the nooks and crannies, don'tcha know?

    1. We have always bought online. We shop and search for the best materials and compare. If you know what you like, then it's a no brainer.

  4. I'm sure you'll pick out some tiles that will look great. I want to remove our whirlpool tub and turn that area into a larger shower. Mine requires a big step over it to get in and now it makes me nervous. There won't be any DIY on it since that's not our comfort zone. I'm good at demo!!

  6. Linda,
Your home is so lovely and intriguing with such marvelous details.
What a fun and inspiring home to live in!

Walk in showers are great-we have one in our master-it will also be great as we age and are unable to move so easily.

Looking forward to seeing what you do!

  7. Hi Linda, You've got a fantastic master bathroom and some great inspiration for your guest bathroom. On of the things that blew me away when we bought our house was how huge our master shower was. The floor was crummy and cheap and didn't match the tile at all, so last spring we replaced the floor. Would have loved to put a bench in, but the cost was so high we passed. Have fun with all your projects!

  8. It seems we knock off a few rooms over a period of time and then we find we are back around full circle! I love your ideas and yes, that step up/step down shower looks a bit dangerous. I can't wait to see what you're going to do. We are in the middle of doing the two baths at the lake. My husband is basically doing the full bath upstairs and I like his ideas...lots of blue spa-like tile and a nice walk in shower. The last time he planned it (before our flood) it was very dark, lots of browns and beiges. Thankfully he sees where he went wrong. ;-) I'm designing the powder room and so far I've picked out the floor tile, toilet, pedestal sink and light fixtures. Really fun. Unfortunately both baths at this house need complete updating, ugh!!

Take care and thanks for the visit!
