The Traveling Tote With Berries and Blossoms

The Traveling Tote Group thought it would be great fun to create a tablescape with our tote as the centerpiece.  Naturally we have to add in some Mackenzie-Childs dishware.  Miss Lola is the star in this tablescape.

These particular dessert/salad plates are called Berries and Blossoms.

The Traveling Tote with Berries and Blossoms

Using my Traveling Tote bag Miss Lola, to hold these lovely flowers.  It makes quite a statement, because this tote bag is very large.

The Traveling Tote Tablescape @LifeandLinda
I paired the pretty summer plates with  the Courtly Check plates and added a red compote for dessert.

Red goblets tie in with the red theme.

A fun red and white checked table for whimsy. I am using our rattan square chargers to compliment the basket weave in the plates and to also make the square red chargers pop.

I baked a  Lemon Cake with fresh berries for dessert.
Summertime is all about fresh fruit.

I am joining my fellow Traveling Tote girls.  I hope you will visit each of their summer tables.

  1. Linda, I would love a slice of your Lemon Cake with fresh berries! And to serve it on the Berries and Blossoms plates would be a little slice of heaven. I bought those plates at the barn sale but haven't used them yet. They look great with the rattan chargers and red. Thanks for the inspiration, and I know you are enjoying your tote in many ways.

  3. Hi Linda! I love the way you have used red with your tote! It really works so well with the black, white and touch of green. The lemon cake is making me drool and I think a piece would be perfect for my breakfast, especially served on those new dishes. I'm tempted by the cake and the dishes too! And the roses must add a heavenly scent to your pretty room, too. Very beautiful! Linda (G) :)

  4. The tote looks so pretty as a centerpiece. The flowers are beautiful. Love the red accent color you used. The new MC dishes are so pretty. I've admired them on-line but they're much prettier in person. The desert looks so yummy- I love lemon and i like how the fruit was placed on it.

  9. I love the berry plates and the berry dessert! Linda, the red on your table makes the Courtly Check pop. I love it! I have been visiting all the traveling tote summertime tablescape posts and I'm having a ball! I also love the red compotes and red and white check napkins. I am "borrowing" your idea of mixing the red compotes with the Courtly Check. So pretty!

  10. The red accents are so fabulous with the Berries and Blossoms MKC plates! Your flower filled tote in the center adds dramatic pizazz to this wonderful summer berry theme table and a berry topped cake for dessert is quite a treat! Everything is better with a little MKC!
